I served as Production Designer for Seoul, Soul, Sole at Kicks Lounge Akron, transforming a large, stark warehouse into a vibrant, immersive celebration of the Air Jordan 3 “Seoul 2.0.” Originally released in 2018 to honor the 1988 Seoul Olympics, the updated shoe draws from Korean culture, incorporating refined materials, aged detailing, and symbols of gguem (dream) and jeong (deep connection).
Working closely with my Creative Director, fabricators, and the Jordan Brand team, I translated these cultural references into physical form. I concepted and built a larger-than-life shoebox, a Korean-inspired living garden, and sculptural trees, bringing warmth, movement, and storytelling to the space. Gallery walls highlighted key Korean moments, Jordan milestones, and Olympic athletes, creating a layered, sensory experience that honored both heritage and sneaker culture. Every element—from materials and textures to neon signage and interactive features—was designed to make guests feel fully immersed in a space alive with energy, memory, and cultural resonance.
