This was the first canvas I ever painted on — a piece that took three years to complete. What began as an experiment in style evolved into a meditation on flow, energy, and desire. During a month-long trip to New York City, I worked remotely while bouncing between hotels, hostels, and friends’ couches, seeking inspiration and exploring what it means to reclaim my energy and pour it back into myself.

The painting bursts with bright colors, layered textures, ribbons, and jewelry, radiating a beautiful, magnetic energy. But up close, the layers tell a different story: holes in the canvas, sections worn away with sanding and hydrogen peroxide, revealing the raw truth beneath the surface. It’s a study of desire and being desired — the tension between how we appear and what lies beneath. Fragile, imperfect, and undeniably beautiful.
