I served as a Production Assistant and an Art Director for The New Vanguard: Creatives of Color Series, an eight-month project spotlighting four Chicago artists—Nikko Washington, Chelsey Carter (Alex Carter Brand), Tubs, and Crowezilla. For each artist, the Studio Brand team and I took the time to bond with them and learn the core of their culture, translating their stories into immersive, larger-than-life installations. We worked directly with physical materials, locally sourced props, and handcrafted elements to bring their artworks into a tangible, four-dimensional space.
Assisting in art direction and supporting fabrication at Chicago’s WNDR Museum, I also led art direction with both intimate 30-person dinners and larger 300+ attendee events. Each installation honored the artist’s identity and cultural impact, offering visitors a space to experience the artistry, movement, and narratives of Chicago’s emerging creative leaders.
