Xiao Mei 小妹 is Lee Collective’s most freeform club series—centering Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander DJs and bringing Eastern sounds into Chicago’s nightlife.
The name Xiao Mei comes from my own path in the creative world. I’ve had mentors who called me their “little sister,” or xiao mei—a nickname that taught me to watch closely, learn fast, and move with purpose. That “Little Sister energy” is bold, curious, and a little untamed—and now it lives in this project.
Each Xiao Mei night draws 300+ dancers, spotlighting the craft behind the booth and the community on the floor. With premiere AANHPI DJs, live airbrushing vendors, and a space built for connection, Xiao Mei celebrates sound, culture, and movement—no pretense, just pure energy.
